I was enchanted as a kid when my grandmother showed me some beautiful jewellery pieces which were passed on to her by her grandmother. Intriguing, isn’t it? I was around 13 years of age. Now, skip to the best part after 12 years. I wore a pair of gold bangles on my wedding day, which were around 60 years old – precious and priceless. They are with me, and I look forward to passing it on to my future generation.
Instinctively, I have always liked jewellery – curious about their design, cheerfully wearing them and carelessly flaunting them. This is what got my attention and I deep dived into jewellery and designing.
Oh Hello! I’m Gazal Kothari, a jewellery designer and an entrepreneur. My instinct, interest and inclination towards handcrafted fashion jewellery led me to build Hyperbole Accessories. You must be thinking why I chose this name for my brand. Hyperbole – spell “hai·pur·buh·lee”. It means exaggeration of small things. And that’s exactly what our jewellery collection stands for.
Every piece, every motif, every design and every detail from the House of Hyperbole Accessories is unique, classy, timeless, lustrous and voguish. Dainty, compact and urbane – the pieces add an oomph to your daily style.
Hyperbole was born out of an idea and an illuminating one, I swear. Back in my college days in 2013, I had to do a research project on the jewellery market. The market at that time seemed saturated, having limited number of designs, innovation and creativity. It was hard to find something that was an amalgamation of durability, inventiveness, affordability and trendiness. I had a secret desire to blend my South Asian culture and background with Western vibes, modern silhouettes, and traditional soul.
Studying Jewellery Design from NIFT made me well acquainted with the entire process of jewellery making – from idea to execution, from designing to detailing. Fast forward to the 4th year of my college where I designed a collection which was inspired from Rio de Janeiro Carnival in Brazil. I had used unique agate stones from Khambhat (Gujarat) and created some statement making pieces out of it. That collection got so much love from everyone and the media, which pushed me more to start something of my own. That’s how Hyperbole was born!
Adorned by many celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Taapsee Pannu, Janhvi Kapoor, Kajol, Kiara Advani, our jewellery has also been featured in the Hollywood show “Never Have I Ever” on Netflix.
Hyperbole believes that life is too short to wear dull, repetitive and boring jewellery pieces. Born out of my love, compassion and passion for jewelries, Hyperbole Accessories makes pieces that become the spark of your personality and style statement.
Credibility, sustainability and creativity are basics of Hyperbole pieces – totally satiated and essentially celebrated. With a base in India and California, Hyperbole Accessories is present in over 12 countries, touching the lives of 6000+ women.
And here is a small secret that I would love to share. I’m the winner of Young Woman Achiever’s Award 2019 by FICCI YFLO Organization.
Through our pieces, we aim to create designs that are bold, ageless, lively and Hyperbole.
